Established in 2019, in Celebration of Evelyn Hazel Miller, our “Evie Bear”

The mission of the Evelyn Hazel Miller Foundation is to support the education, literacy, mental health and well-being of children. Through the Foundation’s outreach, Evelyn’s light is shining in ways we believe would make her proud.

History of the Foundation

In 2019, the Evelyn Hazel Miller Foundation was created to celebrate the life of Evelyn who in 2018, acquired Bacterial Meningitis.  Four days later she became a HERO when she gave the gift of life to two people through organ donation.  At the time, both recipients were in critical condition. Today, the recipient of Evelyn's kidneys has become a grandmother, and her liver recipient is in elementary school.

The Foundation centers around four core initiatives that include the endowed “Evelyn Hazel Miller Memorial Fund”, at the Columbus Zoo, Evie Bear’s Little Libraries, outreach in several ways at Dayton Children’s Hospital, and the Evie Bear HUGS Program.

Remember to SING ~ DANCE ~ HUG!

Evelyn would LOVE that!
